Dolphin Safe Policy

This is a copy of the Earth Island Institute (EII) acceptable Dolphin-Safe Importer/Distributor Corporate Policy. Before EII can confirm your company a dolphin-safe tuna supplier, your company must implement a corporate policy utilizing the criteria listed in this draft.

It is also important that EII receives a complete list of all your company's current tuna suppliers, as well as a list of all tuna labels/brands imported and distributed by your company. Also helpful would be copies of all procurement correspondence from your company to it's tuna suppliers, such as L/C's or purchase contracts stipulating your company's dolphin-friendly tuna specifications. All information of a proprietary nature will be kept confidential.
