Thailan When is a Vietnamese and Chinese artist who was born in a refugee camp in Bangkok. She spent her childhood running barefoot through the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California. Through observing nature’s immaculate form, her artwork depicts lucid dreamscapes of plants, creatures, space and earth elements with meticulous detail and thoughtful balance. With the help of her favorite pen, a tiny paintbrush, and a pair of sharp scissors, Thailan’s drawings, paintings and collages have been shown in the Bay Area, New York, and Hawaii. She resides in beautiful Oakland, California.
