Congratulations to President Grimsson of Iceland

Iceland’s President Olfur Grimsson has just won an unprecedented fifth term to head the feisty island nation.

Perhaps now is the time for him to consider ending Iceland’s outrageous defiance of international laws and norms by continuing the whaling scheme that targets minke and endangered fin whales and sells the products to Japan and other countries in direct violation of the IWC moratorium and CITES?

A twenty-first century Iceland needs a twenty-first century approach to a sustainable environment.
